Order of Possession

If you are being evicted, your landlord will serve you with an order of possession. The order of possession will set a date by which you must vacate your rental unit. If you have not moved out by this date, your landlord can start the process of forcing you out.

If you file an application for review consideration with the Residential Tenancy Branch during the 2-day review period, your landlord is not allowed to enforce the order of possession by getting a writ of possession from BC Supreme Court until the review is decided. Give your landlord a copy of your application for review consideration.

The Options section has more information about the options you have if you are served with an order of possession.
